Favourite Saturday with favourite people

It was a crazy day but it was so well spent.
Daniel came back from Adelaide for holiday.
Liza was on her off day.
We were all out for a shopping and bonding day.

Finally wearing AJ12 that Jane got me for Christmas.
You know that traditional Chinese "belief"
that you're not supposed to give your loved ones shoes as a gift?
Well, I don't believe that but I still gave her $5 back and a present too, just in case.
So, she's not gifting me a pair of shoes, just exchanging gifts.
Whatever it is, I will always be her friend, we will always be friends :)

Brought the now-so-Aussie-boy Daniel for chili pan mee.
He missed this so much.
Kinkin pan mee at Ampang, there's another branch in Publika food court!
It is so good, it is a must-try.

This is my favourite!
I can finish one big bowl myself.

I think Jane likes this, beef balls!

Then, we headed to Pavilion.

Gosh, please give me a cure for these eyebags!
I guess only surgery will help T_T

Shopped for a while and we walked to the newly opened cafe, Tous les Jours.
It's located at Bukit Bintang road, opposite H&M and Zara!

The coffee is not bad.

My favourite will be the strawberry cake.
I think it's genoise sponge, so so soft!

Favourite coffee time with favourite people :)

Nanny Natalie joined us too!
You can see all our pictures on dayre.
We kept taking pictures, haha.

Tourist-sy picture of us! :D

Please ignore my bag.
Slept over at Jane's the night before and I didn't bring an extra bag, lol!

The AJ clan.

Oh my, love their AJs!!!

Then, we went to Tetto bar to chill for a while.
We drove through McDonalds.
Last stop, Zouk!
What a longggggggggggg day but worth it!!!
Love them all :)

Muaaaaaaaaaa!!! Big kiss for Dove :)

So happy to be invited to the Dove Intense Repair blogger event.
Dove has just introduced a new range of Dove Intense Repair that gives you 10x stronger hair.
The number one hair expert in damage care and delivers damage free hair.
They invited the right person, I really do need that, haha!

Photo time first, brilliant idea!
Professional photographer to take pictures for us.
Cute and creative props for us to take picture with!

She's definitely one Dove Girl, haha.

Dove has come up with the "I'm a Dove Girl" contest.
With the new Dove Intense Repair that gives you soft and smooth hair.
You can win a one-year contract as a Dove Girl and RM10,000 cash prize!!!
1. Submit 5 photographs of your original and most creative hair flicks on
2. Write a slogan on why you think you should be a Dove Girl.

We got to make our own calender!!!
They got our pictures printed instantly and we got to decorate our calender on the spot.

Love the stars stickers, specially for us!
Check this out, my personalized 2014 calender ;)

Fashionista KinkyBlueFairy and hot mama Audrey.
Look at their bright smile.

Let's get it started.

Then, a very interesting presentation by John Goh, R&D Deploy Manager.
We learnt a lot about our hair through the "10 Times Stronger Hair against Damage" presentation.
Audrey was saying to me"Waaaahhh, comb hair also damages hair ah?"
I was like"Sleeping damages hair too!"
We were surprised to learn these, I feel like a hair expert now, lol.
Dove Intense Repair recognizes the importance of repairing hair damage at a deeper level.
With Dove's breakthrough patented Keratin Repair Actives, the winning formulation helps to reconstruct hair by strengthening it at its core.
It penetrates into hair fibre to stabilize protein inside each hair fibre for internal repair.
It is not just a superficial fix anymore, it leaves you with 10x stronger smooth and soft hair!

A live demonstration/experiment was carried out to show us how Dove Intense Repair works.
The new Dove Intense Repair Contidioner contains Microsheets Technology.
Microsheets Technology coats hair for visible smoothness and shine.
I really need this Microsheets Technology to help detangle my bleached and damaged hair.

Brand X shampoo was used on the first strand of hair.
Dove Intense Repair shampoo and conditioner were used on the second strand of hair.

100g of weighs were clipped on to both strands of hair.
I couldn't even get a picture because the second strand of hair fell so fast.
In a split second(I meant, less than a second), it was faster than my camera's shutter speed.
The second strand of hair after using Dove Intense Repair shampoo and conditioner was combed through easily, smoothly, without any hassle.

Audrey and I went up to have a closer look.
The first strand of hair with shampoo X still could fall but it required Audrey pulling it more.
Now, this is how you start damaging your hair because you have to exert pressure to comb it through.

Hahaha, this is the best part.
Dove arranged a Jengga game for us to play.

Joyce, Audrey and I were in one group.
Very very exciting game, we enjoyed it very much.
What was even better,  WE WON!!! Hahaha!!!
We won Dove tumbler and Dove Intense Repair Treatment Mask, sweet!

Last but not least, thank you Dove for the lovely dinner, for the fun, for everything!
Can't wait to try the new range of Dove Intense Repair later!

Did you notice that my hair is always messy?
Especially shots on Instagram, my hair... is... always messy.
I don't know why, I guess they are damaged or they are probably just "rebels".
There must be at least one or two strands standing or sticking out in every shot.
I have got to start fixing my hair properly before taking a shot, at some point.
Oh well, why am I so cincai? I guess messy hair is my thing now, lol.

Went swimming and sun tanning in the morning.
Everyone needs some vitamin D!
No, I didn't really swim, it was too cold, I'm a sun person :D
I fell asleep, I might have gotten sunburn if William didn't wake me!
*That's not my ciggie, it's Aussie boy's.

Getting ready for lunch!

Hahaha, I love the fabulous mirrors.
I see myself everywhere...

Tosca restaurant.

Brunch by the pool, love the view.

Say hi to William!
Looking so buff here ;)

Freshly baked, very very good.
So so so crispy, nom nom nom...

Mushroom soup as my entree :)

Lamb shank for him.

Grilled fish for her.

Strawberry ice cream for dessert.

I wanted to stay longer but it was too hot, unhealthy sun!

Then, shopping time!!!!!!!!
Late Christmas gifts for my loved ones and myself :)
Sales, sales everywhere... but I'm broke, lol.

I didn't survive it

My girlfriends always tell me that I'm too emotional.
They always tell me that it's bad to just type it all out here when I feel like it.
They always tell me that I reveal too much of myself.
They always tell me that I shouldn't do it, it makes me look weak.
I always tell them that I'm trying, I'm trying.
In fact, I did try, I'm still trying.

Obviously, I'm going through something now.
Don't ask, just see me grow.
I'm devastated, I feel pathetic.
I can't do it alone.
Say it, else I won't be able to do it.
I'm freed.

Purple hair 2.0 by Editor Salon

I actually really like my hair blonde.
About the top part, again, I dyed it dark brown on purpose to blend the black and blonde.
I wanted my black hair to grow longer.
Something like this (not that curly and long though)

But...
Every single friend I see, they go like
"Uhhhh, what's with the black roots...?"
I wanted to find a "Cameron Tucker got annoyed" face but I couldn't find one.
So, here's something like that again...

I'm tired of explaining and sick of people telling me that I should touch it up.
I was thinking of going blue but I thought that my parents would disown me for that.
Then, I decided to go back to purple because you all love purple.
I don't know why are you girls so obsessed with purple hair.
So, I did it for the sake to make you girls happy, I deserve 10 stars :)
Except this time... PURPLE OMBRE.
Yes, ommmmmmmbre.
Went to Editor Salon, showed my hairstylist Chefuu a picture of the hair colour I want.
Sat down and got started.

What did you mean by I look funny here? Lol.

I don't want my healthy newly grown hair to be too damaged.
I also don't want the bleach to touch my scalp.
You say it, Chefuu will do it for you, no worries, lol.
Anyway, he used the mildest bleach on my roots as requested.

3 shades of purple dye were used.
Darkest purple, purple and light greyish purple.
I don't know how he did it but he just did some magic on mixing the hair dye.

I loveeeeeeeeeee to get my hair washed here.
The junior stylist at Editor Salon, her name is Xiao May.
OMG, loveeeeeee the head and neck massage.
Like I slept for an extra hour.
Go and try! Who doesn't like a god hair wash?

I think I look good like this, trololol.

Kerastase hair treatment is all you need after all this.
Hair treatment is very very very important.
I don't think I could actually comb through my hair without getting a hair treatment.

Did I mention Chefuu is a superman?
He's a full time hairstylist, he and his partner work 7days a week 11am-10pm.
Who works 7days a week?????
You see the beautiful decorations for CNY? It's all DIY.
He's also a photographer, I think he's such a hipster.
Not to mention his music taste, I love his playlist.
He just added Lana Del Rey to the playlist because I recommended ;)

I always wanted to accomplish this mission -
Fishtail braid on coloured hair
I finally did it!!!
I was like "Chefuu, can you do fishtail braid? It's ok if you can't"
He gave me the "pffffffffttt" expression, haha.

Tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

I'll upload more pictures in the next blog post ;)

Sometimes, I feel like a boss, lol.
Nah, it's just that my hair takes too long to dry and I'm early, haha!

And... ya... I get free photoshoot session there too, lol lol.

Creative DIY decorations for CNY!

A picture with Chefuu.
Thanks for being soooooooo patient with my hair.

I like how all of them are so artistic and creative.
I can live in the salon.

Director Chefuu Lee.

Director Kai.

Feng, he's really cool, I assume...
He doens't talk much, lol.

A friendlier picture with Xiao Mayyyyyyyy!
Oh my my, she gives the best hair wash, haha, I feel like an old woman.

Purple hair FTW!!! :)

Late night thoughts, long distance Like Crazy

$

I like to randomly pick a book to read.
I like to randomly pick a movie to watch.
I always call "JACKPOT!" when I find a good one.

I yelled jackpot again because I found a great movie.
I'm so torn right now.
I have to blog about it before I can rest my mind and go to sleep.
I just watched a movie "Like Crazy".
I actually found this movie through a song that I really like.
This song was used as a soundtrack in the movie.
I love how this movie was shot, it was beautifully shot.
It's not just a romantic drama film, it's art.
I love the editing, I love the montages.
It was so... impactful.. to me, maybe because I experienced long distance relationship, twice.
This is all too real, all too familiar, all too close to heart...
This movie tells a British student who falls in love with
an American student while she was studying in the US.
They go through hardships just to be with each other but until the end...

Well, I didn't go that far for both my long distance relationships but yeh...
I know people always say trust is the main key for a relationship but I don't think it is.
There are 2 main keys in this - distance and immigration.
Distance destroys love, what more when you can overcome distance?
Immigration. Immigration kills it all.

[0.44min in trailer]
Relationships start off really sweet, they always do...
By knowing you'll have to leave him or her in the future, without knowing it'll be temporarily or permanently, it starts off even sweeter.

[0:54min in trailer]
That feeling when both are tired, both have their own life, distance starts growing.
That feeling when both stop talking for months and just a call or a text..
To remind them how they miss each other and either one would jump on a plane.
I sure did experience this...

[1:33min in trailer]
Another pretty her or another handsome him comes along.
He's stuck, she's stuck.
To move on or not to move on.
Able to move on or not able to move on.
It's miserable.

[In the movie]
That feeling when she said "it's hard to keep stopping and starting"
That feeling when she was tearing while sending him off and he said "oh, you're killing me"
That feeling when she stared at him taking the escalator up and not looking back.
That feeling when she waited long enough for him to come back to see her again...
for just a few days... a few weeks...
That feeling when he was here, she sat in the train looking at him.
That feeling when he went back to the US, she sat in the train and stared at the empty seat.
That feeling...

Then, the effort to be together gets dragged on and on, sparks die...

This is the saddest ending...
Very sad, very real, so real to be so sad, it sucks...
I just sat there when the credits came on, I was like... what?
I thought when they were reminiscing, they realized how much they love each other.
But... the last scene just broke my heart.
In my mind, I was just thinking "come on, work it out... please..."
I pray that they ignite the flame, it takes patience and effort but at least, try...
I wish they gave me a closure but I guess it's obvious.

Heart wrenching.
I have problem letting go...
I hold on so tight, I didn't want to let go, I couldn't set myself free.
I didn't want to accept it, I wanted to make it work.

What can I say?
It's all past tense now.
It's sad.
Time will heal.

Blogging is not dying

I don't like it when my inspirations only strike at night, mostly midnights.
I don't like it that I can't rest my mind until I babble it out.
I don't like it that I always sleep late.
When I sleep really late, I get hungry and I have to get out of my room to find food.
Then, my mum finds me awake at 3am, she starts the nagging.
My mood gets shitty and I feel terrible.
You see, the consequences... lol...

You see again, I'm still not giving up on writing.
Literally, writing but yeh, typing, ok, it's typing.
You might wonder if I have a full time job, no I don't.
I've been to two job interviews, I got the first one but I couldn't pull myself to do it.
I also couldn't pull myself to go for the job interviews that I wanted to.
My parents are giving me pressure, I'm not doing anything, I have coloured hair.
Things aren't easy but they sure do seem easy for other people.
What I really want to do is this.
A full time blogger/social networker.
I don't really just want to be a blogger that shares high resolution pictures.
I credit myself as a writer, I want to be a writer that touches people's heart.
I like traveling, I like going places that I've never been before.
I want to experience different things and share them which I always do.
I like singing too, being a social networker allows me to do almost everything I like.
BUT I have a life to sustain...

I know I'm not a professional writer.
I mostly talk about emotions and life, lots of romance but come on, romance is a beautiful thing.
Emotions are hard to be understood, perhaps you can find ways to understand
different emotions better through me.
Romance is not a bad thing, I want people to appreciate and continue appreciating love and romance.
I want to encourage people to read, not just looking at pictures for pleasure for your eyes.
Well, yeh, we appreciate beautiful things, what you don't know is words can be beautiful too.
Which NOT many of young Malaysian readers would appreciate NOW.
(90%of my blog readers are Malaysian, so yeah...)
I can see that we are slowly getting there now.
This blog post will not get as many "likes" as the ones with a string of pictures, I guarantee.
I want to encourage young Malaysians to appreciate the wonder of words.
Well, that's too a big goal but I'll start small.
I talk about things that are more relevant to them (mostly girls).
Guys should start reading blogs too, to know more about girls, not to just look at their pictures.
I meant, yes, you look at pretty girls but get to know them more, not just skin-deep!
Oh, what am I talking about?

Bloggers only reveal the presentable bits of their life.
We are just normal people, we need to eat, we laugh, we pout, we go to the bathroom, we sleep.
Do not think our life is glorious, we get the perks, we get free stuffs.
Honey, free stuffs are not going to pay our bills.
You have a full time job, you get paid every month, doesn't that make you cooler?
We don't get fixed salary, we are in between, up and down, left and right, everywhere.
People say that blogging is dying.
I won't deny it but please don't let it die.

Support your favourite blogger.
Fashion blogger, lifestyle blogger, travel blogger, fitness blogger etc.
Support them! Do not think that your "like" doesn't matter since they have got thousands of likes.
It's not true, number matters for us, in fact, it matters a lot.
(Just fyi, follow me and read my latest blog posts on iMotiv
I always go on iMotiv to check likes and comments to judge if my blog post is good enough, lol)
Support them! Spread the word for them.
Tell them that they are awesome, tell other people that they are awesome.
Try to understand them if you like them, don't just look at their pictures.
Their beauty isn't just skin-deep.

We lose our motivations to blog when nobody reads.
Let me rephrase it, I lose my motivation to blog when nobody reads.
It's a lot of work from taking pretty pictures.
Sometimes I can't touch my food even when it's already sitting there and tempting me to eat it before it gets cold because we take turns to snap good pictures.
Sometimes you get stuck at certain places because we take turns to snap nice pictures in front
of an artistic wall, a spectacular view, a cozy background.
(That happens way more often when your friends are all bloggers.)
Deciding on the best pictures to be edited.
Edit pictures, colour, contrast, brightness, sharpness.
Choice of words, type and delete, type and delete.
Be careful on the words you use, it might appear to be a different meaning to certain people.

Some of the readers actually asked my hairdresser, my manicurist if I am lanci (cocky).
I'm the most cincai person in this world, I'm just not good at talking to new people.
I go to an event without knowing anybody there, I'll just sit in a corner.
Yup, that's me but if you talk to me, I am talkative.
There was this time when I was shoe shopping in Australia.
I had a big fight with my ex the night before, my eyes were swollen and I didn't have make up on.
I was so surprised, or should I say shocked to have been recognized by a girl IN AUSTRALIA.
"Hi, you are Daphne right?"
"Oh, hi, yes, nice to meet you."
"I read your blog!"
":) Thank you!"
Then I sat down and looked down at my shoes for a long time.
I got home and I received a comment saying that I'm cocky.
I feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel so bad, still feel bad about it.
I stared at the shoes because I felt so ugly that day and blamed myself for not dressing well.
Mostly mad at my ex who made me cry and also went to the washroom at that time.
I learnt my lessons now 1. Never leave house without make up 2. Smile no matter what.
I don't really smile showing my teeth, the reason is I don't think I have nice teeth.
Simple as that, I'm not an angry person, lol lol lol.
You see.. if you just look at my pictures, you might think I'm cocky.
If you read this, then you know why I don't give bright smile a lot.

Ok, Im off topic again but anyway...
If you still want to read blogs, you want your favourite bloggers to update their blog more often...
Support them, they need you.
Don't let blogging (Malaysian scene) die.

The love of your life

$
0
0

Finally home after 3 days and had some time to watch a film.
I just watched one, it wasn't impressive but sorta made me think.
I'm only turning 22, too young to talk about marriage.
Somehow, I think people don't marry the one they really love.
I meant, the lucky ones probably do but the unlucky ones...
Not to say they are unlucky and not to say that they don't love their other half they married.
I used to have this silly thinking that love beats everything but no, changed my mind...
Love can't beat distance, love can't beat timing.
There are exceptions, I call them the lucky ones.

I talked about how distance kills a relationship in one of my blog posts.
Timing is...wow, I don't even know how to describe timing.
Timing is crucial.
Hahaha, I can't say that love is "first come first serve" basis
but I can't find something better to describe.
Things often get messed up, time gets messed up.
You meet someone and you both are good together.
Someone comes along but this someone is never meant for you, never meant to be with you.
Then, it falls to fate and destiny.
Sometimes, someone is fated to be loved by you or
to love you the way other people won't have a chance to experience it.
It's a special thing between two that no one will ever understand.
I should use this Chinese phrase to describe it
有時有緣 但是無分
You really love her or him but you know you both will never be together.
It doesn't mean that you don't love her or him.
It doesn't mean that the love between you two is not strong enough to fight obstacles.
It also doesn't mean you can't move on with your life without her or him.
Hmmmm, such a strange thing, it keeps me wonder...

That's the love of your life.
The love of your life.
Thought of anybody? Yes? He or she is not the love of your life.
You're probably young, reading my blog, lol.
Still a firm "yes" that he or she is the love of your life?
Hmmm, 10years later, think about this post.
I think you might have your answer then.

I wish I'm lucky enough to share about the love of my life one day :)

My Augustus Waters crying T_T

That last scene "okay..." T_T
I'm looking forward to the scene when she told him
"It's okay. Gus. It's okay..."

For people who like to read, READ THE BOOK FIRST!
For people who don't like to read, DON'T GOOGLE THE ENDING!
The ending will give you 夠夠力 but I'm pretty sure that you're googling it now, lol lol.
Watch it in the cinema, download it or whatever.
I'll blog about it anyway :D
It's going to be epic, like The Notebook, One Day, A Walk to Remember etc.
There's this movie called "If Only", you guys should watch it too!

Vain or not vain

This post contains a string of vain pictures which I haven't done it in a while?
No, not really, who am I joking? Every blog post of mine has at least a picture of me, lol.
Well, I don't think I'm vain-vain, it's just sometimes, it's necessary to be vain, lol.
I'm a blogger! What do you... not expect?
Ok but in this post, less talking, more self portraits?

"Errm? Where should I look?
The screen? The lens?
Oh no no no, wait!
Great, crossed eyes now."

"Oh yeah, try to be sexy, ahmmm, yes, that's right!
Cover part of your face, cover part of your face!
Do a duck face and... ask somebody to shut up?"

"I don't want to show this side of my face, it makes me look bad..."
What do you mean by this side of face makes you look bad?
YOU LOOK BAD ANYHOW! Lol.

I don't know if I told you that I don't feel confident about myself?
I genuinely feel that I look like shit all the time.
You might think "bullshit, you take 91632874 pictures of yourself a day!"
Erm, I don't even know how to explain but if you're my friend, you'll know this shit.
I'm always trying to cover my face.
Sometimes I will just give up on myself when I see a bad picture of me.
Whatever, look ugly anyway, so why bother?
Lol, maybe I just feel stressed because all my girlfriends are drop dead hot.

"Oh yeah, 1. I'm still going to cover part of my face.
2. Don't look into the camera.
Good tips to trick people into thinking that you're ok looking"

Every single time we take a group shot.
At least one of my girlfriends will shout "Daphne! Don't cover your face!"
Especially Liza, lol lol lol.

"There you go, same shit!"

This post does not have a point.

Can't Help Falling in Love - Ingrid Michaelson (Cover by Daphne)

Haha, hello, new song cover!
The audio was recorded at 3 this morning.
I couldn't sleep, I don't know if it was the caffeine, the empty stomach or just insomnia.
Great that this song is pretty... quiet.
So, I sang quietly, alone, in my room, at 3 in the morning, lol.
I thought I would also do video recording for visual purposes, haha!
I had something very crazy in mind but I can't pull it off without professional help.
Please excuse my poor video recording, I don't even know what was I doing in the video.
I tried to be artistic, then I tried to be cool but you guys like to see me smile, so I smiled a little.
Very awkward video...

Ok, back to the song.
It's called"Can't Help Falling in Love", it's a classic by Elvis Presley.
You might be more familiar with the F4 / Lilo and Stitch / A-Teens versions.
I sorta grew up listening to the Elvis Presley's version, dad only listens to western pop.
I love this song, it's a very romantic one, it's wonderful.

I'm doing a cover of Ingrid Michaelson's cover of this song, lol.
I first heard Ingrid Michaelson's version quite a while back and I loved it.
I recently looked for this song and it came to my surprise that
this song cover was used as a soundtrack for the movie "Like Crazy".
That was why I watched "Like Crazy" and IT'S A GREAT MOVIE.
Ahhhhh, I got my mind blown so I decided to cover this song.

I hope you like my song cover :)

Meet my couz, she looked slightly annoyed here, haha.

I recently reconnected with my cousin in Canada.
I last saw her when I was 11? 12? I have no idea.
She's Nicole, she's the smartest cousin you can never have.
I #win, only I do, I have the coolest cousin.
Yup, my mum always does the "Asian mum comparing kids" thingy since young.

She plays the piano so well, she masters it at really young it.
She has read a thousand books, maybe more than that now.
She had the largest book shelves at her hometown, Penang, I've been there once.
She moved to Canada years ago, I don't know when because we lost contact.
You know how I read? I read like, you know, Malaysian train, KTM, slow.
She reads like, erm, Japanese or China train, really fast, lol.
Lol, what a weird way to describe it but it just came to mind.

Straight As is never a problem to her, A PIECE OF CAKE, no, a thin slice of cake to be exact.
She is the nicest, most understanding, honest, sincere, selfless.
I think she got it from my lovely granny, so gracious.
I remember she didn't let me kill mosquitoes when we were small kids because they are living things.
She wants to save the world, like seriously, that's her goal.
She loves animals more than anything, she gives so much love to the world.
I think she's really great, really selfless while I just sit here eating cake.

The whole family was really surprised when she chose to do music.
What's Asians with straight As? Haha, I don't even have to say it.
I thought she was going to be a lawyer or a doctor.
I'm happy for her doing what she likes because I love music too, I wish I could do it for a living.

Now, she's an opera singer, a piano teacher, music teacher.
She's also a writer, she does all sorts of crazy stuffs.
She tried to explain what she does but dumb people like me won't get it, haha.

I'm so happy that she reads young adult books, she reads everything.
She watches American series, she loves One Tree Hill.
I'm so happy that we have something in common, more than I ever expected.
She's so intelligent, she's artistic, I seem really small and superficial next to her.
I'm just glad that she's so awesome, I'm so thankful.
What's even better? Her huge list of angmoh friends, zomg.
See, I'm soooooooooooo superficial, can't help it.
Nah, just joking, I'm so happy that we talked again.
I always wait for the chance to talk to her because nobody talks to me now, only she does :(
The time difference kills it all though, we would not get to talk if I were to sleep early.
She will be my date on Valentine's day, grateful enough ;)
Ahhhh, she's just wonderful.

She writes poetries, articles, fictions.
She showed me yesterday, I read them all.
This is my favourite, it is DEEP, so deep...
Read it.

Change by Nicole Xian Ling Tan

Sasha tucked a stray wisp of hair behind her ear. She uncrossed her legs and crossed them again, annoyed at how her bubble skirt was starting to bite into the skin around her belly bulge. Her boyfriend, Ted, was hunched over at the other end of the bed, flicking his Zippo in a noisy fashion.
She twitched uncomfortably and covered her nose with her sleeves as the smoke from Ted’s burning cigarette graphed the air. Sasha coughed lightly and pushed the windows open. Staring out into the evening haze, she counted the cars crossing Ted’s apartment.
“Fine,” she muttered. “I’ll do it.”
Ted immediately handed Sasha a pink sweater and swung open the door. It was just a few minutes before seven as they left the apartment. Ted didn’t have much convincing to do after all.
Sasha remained silent as Ted gav
e her instructions about how to sit, stand, walk and talk. As his arm draped loosely over her shoulders, Sasha felt his weight bear down on her chest. She was starting to feel uncomfortable, nauseous even, about the whole set-up.
Eventually, they stopped a street away from the station. Ted gripped her in the shoulders and whirled her around to face him. “Just do as I said,” Ted said softly.
He pressed his forehead to hers and wrapped his arms around her waist, just the way she liked to be held.          “Remember, you don’t have to feel bad about it.”
“I don’t know,” Sasha sighed. “I’ll try. Really.”
Ted’s face broke into a grin. He pat her on the rear-end and gave her a mock salute as he turned to walk away.
Slowly, Sasha made her way towards the bus station. People were bulldozing their way through the crowds, minding their own business. They were unsuspecting.

The lights seemed condescendingly bright. She rubbed bits of mascara clumps out of her lashes and trailed behind random people. She pretended to line up for a ticket. She sat on the cold metal bench outside. The gritty noise of wheeled suitcases against the pavement nagged at Sasha’s ears as she watched people hustle by. Nothing she was doing felt right.
Trying not to grind her jaw, Sasha rose from her seat slowly and meekly approached a young couple.“Excuse me, I’m five dollars short for a ticket and I don’t have my cellphone on me...” she started. “Can you spare me some -”
“Sure, no problem,” the girl said. They both started checking their pockets and ended up handing her four dollars and some change. “That’s all we have, good luck!”
“Thank you so much,” Sasha’s voice trailed as they turned to walk away. People were actually good, she thought, as she held tight onto the coins. Her palms were going to stink of metal tonight.
When another bus arrived, she waited for the passengers to make their way across to the exit before she made her next move. As she tried to remain unnoticed by the workers, she looked for kind faces by studying the creases that hung to their lips, and the way they regarded others with their eyes.
As Sasha spent her evening asking for money to purchase her ticket, she learned that women who were traveling with children were less likely to hand out money because they already had their hands full. Students, especially the men, had less money on them but seemed more sympathetic. People with bright colored coats were quite generous and chatty. As she spent the entire evening stereotyping and categorizing the people she asked for change from, she couldn’t help but wonder what they thought of her t
oo.

After she collected a sizable amount of both money and rejections, Sasha put on her best nonchalant look and walked away. She tried phoning Ted, but he wasn’t picking up. So, she dragged her feet all the way back to his apartment. It was getting chilly and her flats were killing her. Sasha felt a jolt of craving for something warm and spicy. The aroma wafting from the Chinese restaurant nearby was tempting, but she told herself to keep walking on.
When she rapped on the door, Ted let her in and handed her a fleecy blanket. She wanted to nag him for not picking his cellphone again, but quickly decided against it. She emptied her earnings from her purse onto the dining table. He leaned over and sorted out the change.
“Not bad,” he said, humming lightly. He stuffed a bill and a couple of coins into his pocket. “I’ll get some food and booze to celebrate your new job.”
Sasha narrowed her eyes. “I thought we were saving my money for the baby.”
Ted impatiently dangled the house keys. “God, it’s just one baby,” he groaned. “You still have, like, what? Six months?”
“Hey, I was the one standing out in the cold in these stupid clothes all night begging for that money while you stayed home watching TV!” Sasha cried. “You are just... so... idiotic!”
After an uncomfortable moment of silence, Ted sauntered over to Sasha and went down on his knees. He put his arms around Sasha’s belly and pressed his cheek against her belly.
“Baby, you’ll let papa have a drink, won’t you?” he cooed, yanking up his loose-fit jeans at the same time. “Tell mama!”
He peered up at her with his best puppy-dog face and pawed her in the chest. Sasha snorted and shoved him away, trying not to smile. Seeing her give in, Ted started to tickle her sides, and both of them ended up on the floor laughing.
When their laughter ceased, Ted wrapped his arm around Sasha. He marveled at how pretty she looked even when she had become bigger.
“I’m sorry,” he finally said. “You know we can’t both ask for money, people will suspect something. Think of it this way... I have my day job, and you can work in the evenings.”

“Only when you’re feeling okay, of course,” he added quickly. “Alright, it’s getting late. Just one drink, I promise. Fried rice for you?” Sasha paused as she thought of spicy tom-yum soup, but she nodded anyway.
“I’m going to rest,” she murmured as he headed out the door, her mind drifting as he stepped out. The couch and blanket had already began to work their soothing magic on her senses. “Take your keys.”
Let Ted have his beer, she thought. At least she had someplace to stay.
The aria All that Gold, from her mother’s favorite Menotti opera started to play in her head. All that gold, I wonder if rich people know what to do with their gold. She used to think the lyrics were stupid.
All those coins. Perfect roundness, grainy to touch. All those dirty, traveling coins and bills.

Friends and Trust

I have issue with trust.
I don't think I trust people easily.
I'm not smart though, I always believe what people say.
I believe you but it doesn't mean that I trust you.
You see the difference with believe and trust?

I'm a very "alone" person, I won't say lonely, just alone.
I can count my friends, I stick with them.
For so many years, I have the same friends.
My friends have other friends, I used to try really hard to fit in.
Then, I thought to myself, why?
But yeh, it's good to know more people, I shouldn't stay under my shell.
I guess it's better like this for me because NO DRAMA.
Friends around me, they all HAVE DRAMA within their group.
Omg, I find it really scary.
I'm so so so glad, so glad, my friends and I don't fight.

A friend chats a lot with me recently.
He asked me why am I always home.
I said my best friends are overseas.
He asked what about high school mates.
I said I have none.
I changed 6 different schools from primary to secondary.
Especially in high schools, I have 2 good friends from the first high school.
I just saw them last week, they live really far.
Second high school, nobody talks to me.
The girls just simply hated me because I was new and I was a blogger.
Third high school, the same thing, people judge me as a blogger.
What's so bad about being a blogger? We've got a brain, man.
I think I only made one good friend from there.
He's studying in the UK now.

- It's really great to have guy friends, less drama.

-Do not make friends with people who always do friend-hopping.
If they can't stay with their friends, what makes you think that they can stay with you?
(There are exceptions though)

-Once you find a friend, really take her/him as a friend, respect her/him.

-Friendship requires effort, you're no big shot.
Don't envy people who have friends for a long time, ask yourself if you put any effort?
Sure? You did? You really did? Ok, he/she is probably not the right friend, you will find.

There is this very good way to find out who you think is your friend.
I was thinking about this, it works for me, I don't know if it works for you.
Hypothetically, you are to get married, the most important day of your life...
Who will want them to be your bridesmaids/best men?
This got me good.
I don't even have to tell you who's my maid of honour.
I would say I'll have a maid of honour and 4 bridesmaids.

Good for you if you are certain like me.
If you go thinking "hmm, he is my good friend but meh... my best man? hmm..."
Hahahahaha, there you go, it's your answer.

Take a minute to thank your true friends.

Good luck, make a friend today, sincerely...

Taking care of blonde hair

$

I have very damaged hair as I've bleached my hair for more than 3 times.
I went from black to blonde, to purple, to pink and back to blonde with roots dyed dark brown.
My hair takes forever to dry because they are so damaged, poor hair.
I have to take 3 hours to get ready to go out (2 hours+ for my hair).
It takes a lot of effort, too much until I get really sick of it and I just want to go bald.
This is what happened every single time I combed my hair.
I could never comb my hair from the top to the end, they normally get tangled up.
I am not a patient person, so I just pull them really hard and they break on me.

I always style my hair and people go like
"Your hair looks so healthy even after bleaching, how do you do that?"
Oh no no no, from the outside, it might seem not that bad but... it actually is bad, very bad.
Thank God for Dove Intense Repair.
It's not just superficial fix anymore! I need some serious repair!
I need Dove's patented Keratin Repair Actives that
fortifies hair structure for a lustrous crowning glory.
I'm now using Dove Intense Repair shampoo, conditioner, repair cream and treatment mask.

This is how my hair looked last week.
Yes, I know, it was terrible, brittle and dull.

After using Dove Intense Repair shampoo and conditioner, my hair is smooth and soft enough.
The winning formulation of Dove intense Repair helps repairing hair at the core
to bring back strength up to 10 times!

Just today after using Dove Intense Repair for a few days.
My hair is so much softer now, everyone can definitely see the difference.

I style my hair almost everyday.
I use my hair curler a lot, at high heat, high temperature.
Heat damages hair easily, even the UV Ray from the sun.

I use Dove Intense Repair leave-on cream before I use my curler.
Love it, I love how Dove has its Dove trademark scent.
It makes my hair smell so good.
You know how when you put hair cream on, your hair gets oily and sticky after some time?
I had none of the problems mentioned above with Dove Intense Repair cream.
It doesn't give me the oily and sticky after-feel, moreover it repairs my hair at the same time.Glad that Dove makes my beauty routines easier by giving me truly damage-free hair!

Anyway, I've mentioned about the"I'm a Dove Girl" contest.
With the new Dove Intense Repair that gives you soft and smooth hair.
One will walk away with a one-year contract as a Dove Girl and RM10,000 cash prize!!!
Contestants were to submit 5 photographs of  their original and most creative hair flicks on
and write a slogan on why they think they should be a Dove Girl.

Valentine's day-ed?

So, everyone's talking about valentine's day.
A reader wants to know what's my take on this.
I know it's just another day, I personally don't make a big fuss out of it too.
BUT I still think that if you're in a relationship, you're married, you should celebrate this day.
Or take this chance to ask the girl or the boy you like out.
It's just another day but you can make it special, why not?
Well, if you're single, shut up about it.
Yeh, I know it's hard to not talk about it, blame social networking.
Everyone's talking about it, some posts are really funny, lol.

This is hilarious.

Perks of being single on valentine's day, oh yeah, that's right!
It shows a man's wallet but hey, it doesn't only apply on guys ok?

You see.
We girls buy expensive gifts for our other half as well.
I don't know about you but I'm pretty sure we do, my girl friends do too.
Yeh, I know some girls expect a lot on valentine's day which is bad.
Wait, let me rephrase.
I think it's ok to expect him to DO something cute for you.
I think it's not ok to expect FOR expensive material gifts.

I remember when I was in a relationship last year.
I got off work at 9.30pm on valentine's day.
I told him that we didn't have to celebrate because we both were working late that day.
When I reached home, I found rose petals around a box of Ferrero Rocher with candles lit up.
I was like NAWHHHHHHHHH~
Felt damn bad because I really didn't get anything.
I guess he was expecting something from me too, so you see, it's not just us girls, guys expect too.
I know the world has made valentine's day a sick day.
People like sharing about their valentine's gift on social networking sites.
Well, maybe they feel really happy about it or they just want to show off.
Can't people be happy receiving gifts on that day? It's not like they get gifts everyday.
Let them but I know it's hard to not be influenced because I am influenced too.
I felt bad the next day, so I went to get him a set of facial products he always wanted.
I guess he felt the need to "return" something expensive, he got me a pair of earrings.

Sometimes it's not about expecting anything on valentine's.
You show your appreciation everyday, everyday can be valentine's.
Be true to yourself, how often do we remember to appreciate one another EVERYDAY?
Valentine's day gives you a chance to show EXTRA appreciation to your loved one.
Not just from a guy to a girl but vice versa.
For example, will you be happy to see your mum receiving
a bouquet of flowers from your dad on valentine's day?
I'll be so happy to see that, it's really sweet, isn't it?

I think you should celebrate valentine's day with your loved one.
Do not expect anything from a relationship but do not stop hoping.
Hope keeps great love going.
Happy Valentine's Day :)

So, what's the plan?

My Lip Colour

Many of you always ask me what lipstick or lip colour do I use.
I get questions like that a lot on my blog and on my Instagram.
I can't answer everyone, so I'm just going to put it out here, haha.
There's this lipstick that I really want to recommend you.
Nobody likes dry lips, well, I do not like lips, it feels uncomfortable.
Laneige Serum Intense Lipsticks give you vivid colours and moisturize your lips at the same time.
They contain 35% serum component which makes our lips look glossy.

I've been trying to follow the Korean trend lately.
Have you watched "You Who Came From The Stars"?
Everyone watches that Korean drama, haha.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cheon Song Yi's lips so much.
Always soft and fluffy looking, sweet but also brings some sexiness to it.
The 12nd episode finally puts my question to rest.
I saw Cheon Song Yi picking up Laneige Serum Intense Lipstick.
I also read some Korean blogs, beauty blogger, fashion blogger.
Laneige Serum Intense Lipstick is the HIT thing now in Korea, they call in LED lipstick.
Oh yeah! I went straight to Laneige's counter the next day to try it.
This is the colour I picked.

I never thought that lip colour is really important, it brightens you up.
I'll show you how pale I look without moisturized lip colour.
You can see my it's really dry and it's cracking, hahaha.

See the difference!

I really like it.
It has a very smooth and soft texture, it's not sticky at all.
 Nicknamed LED lipstick, it's true!
It gives a natural looking shine to my lips.

Close up shot for you to see the texture and colour :)
Thanks to the soft sliding maximization design, I don't have to use a lip brush.
It's very smooth upon application.

Tried to copy Song Hye-Kyo's Korean sweet look, lol lol.
She's the brand ambassador for Laneige, I love herrrrrrrr...
I secretly wish that I was Korean, it's not a secret anymore now, haha.

Laneige Serum Intense Lipstick is absolutely a MUST-HAVE.
It's like getting a lip moisturizer, lip balm, lip gloss, lip colour, all in one.
Available in 12 shades, you can check the colours out on www.laneige.com.my.
I'm getting more soon, so I can "unleash the inner Korean in me", hahahahaha!
